Guide to Booking Equipment Packages + Production Studio

The existing Emily Carr University insurance covers most all school-related activities, such as practicing with equipment and completing exercises. Please note that the school insurance coverage has a deductible of $10,000. The deductible is the amount of money you are responsible to pay in the event that you need to file a claim.

However for 4th year productions and any other productions, that consists of taking out a lot of expensive equipment, it is highly recommended to purchase one’s own insurance from another provider. Outside insurance can protect a wider range of coverage with a lower deductible. The benefit of insurance is to reduce one’s own financial risk when using borrowed equipment. Having insurance is often recommended but is not required to access FMSA equipment.

Front Row is a recommended insurance provider for short film shoots.
