DCP UPDATE
If you would like us to make a DCP file for you ( to match some festival and public screening formats) Please contact fmsatech@ecuad.ca with requests. We will need your full HD Pro Res 422 file ( as specified below) as well as your audio file in 5.1 (surround) format separately.

FINAL DELIVERY TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS
*Full films must be labelled “Student’s las name_first initial” (ie, doe_j). Trailers must be named identically, and appended with a “_t” (ie, doe_j_t).
*Please edit/insert the NEW ECUAD logo at the end of your film (files attached below)
Video
Full films must be Quicktime movies with the following resolution, frame rate, codec
1920 x 1080 (1.0)
24fps – Progressive
Apple ProRes 422 (no HQ or LT)
4:2:2 with 8/10-bit quantizing 5 seconds of Black at the beginning + count down + title art piece credits ECUAD logo 5 seconds of Black at the end (tail)
ALSO: export H264 or H265 and DCP for your own usage in the future (to match Festivals and public screening requests)
5 seconds of Black at the beginning + count down + title art piece credits ECUAD logo 5 seconds of Black at the end (tail)
Audio
- All QuickTime files must contain 48 kHz, 24 bit uncompressed stereo audio sources and file formatting.
- Audio levels must be mixed to the following guidelines:
- -24 LUSF
- average levels around -20 dbfs
- peaks (loudest sound) no higher than -6 dbfs
- dialogue normal (average talking) levels around -20 dbfs
- dialogue peaks (shouting) no higher than -10 dbfs
- QuickTime files must contain:
- 48 kHz, 24 bit uncompressed audio
- Stereo, LCR or 5.1 channels (according to your final mix)
- Students submitting DPX image sequences must also include either:
- A single stereo 48 kHz, 24 bit uncompressed .wav
OR
-
- Multiple, discrete .wav files for LCR or 5.1 (Surround)
- each discrete channel must be a mono, 48 kHz, 24 bit uncompressed .wav file
- representing either 3 channels for LCR (L, C, R) or 6 channels for 5.1 (L, R, C, LFE, Ls, Rs)
- each channel must be clearly labelled according to its channel (doe_j_L.wav, doe_j_C.wav, doe_j_R.wav)
- Multiple, discrete .wav files for LCR or 5.1 (Surround)
ECU GRAPHICS FOR FILM CREDITS USE

- You must include “made at (or produced at) Emily Carr University of Art & Design” This helps to publicize our program by being associated with your great film!
RULES OF USE
- OPTION 1: Your text should read “Produced at” or “Made at” above the Emily Carr logo. You can also just use the logo without writing “Produced At” or “Made At”
- You can write your text in whatever font you choose. If you want to be consistent with the ECU font, it is Freight Sans Pro, available through Adobe CC
- RULES, GRAPHIC LOGO PROTECTION: The Emily Carr graphic logo with text must not be changed or adjusted in any editorial manner, other than general scale adjustments of the entire graphic. This prohibition includes any self-designed version of the spiral, as well as any animated re-representation.
- Place the logo at the end of your film. Hold on screen for 3 seconds. Fade-in/fade-out is recommended. You may wish to place the logo before your final copyright.
